This policy covers the hevlayer.com site, hosted Layer service, support interactions, and anonymous telemetry from the standalone gateway.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as email addresses submitted through forms, support messages, and account details for the hosted service. The site also uses analytics to understand page visits and product interest.

The standalone gateway sends anonymous operational telemetry when enabled: version, anonymous instance ID, backend kinds, and aggregate feature-touch counters. It does not send query text, namespace names, documents, vectors, API keys, or customer credentials.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and secure the service, respond to requests, improve documentation and product direction, measure adoption, debug operational issues, and communicate with design partners or customers.

Telemetry Opt-Out

Self-hosted gateway telemetry can be disabled with LAYER_TELEMETRY=off. The gateway also honors DO_NOT_TRACK=1.

Service Providers

We may use service providers for hosting, analytics, email, support, payments, and infrastructure operations. They process information only as needed to provide those services.

Retention and Security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
